Spring Dresses and White Tees

Happy Tuesday! If you live anywhere in the North east and along the East coast you are probably getting hit with a crazy snow storm. I am currently sitting in my office typing away while a winter wonderland is blowing through the town. It is actually kind of cozy, at least while we still have power. :)

Paperback Boutique is where my two outfits are from and can I just say how much I love, love this floral dress? The fit is perfect and lays just at the perfect length. It has a little choker detail on the dress, adding some more creative details and of course the floral trend is so hot right now. I just happen to be obsessed with florals (if you haven't noticed) so I am elated that they are currently trending. The dress also has a cinched waist which is always flattering on every body type. The white shirt was also complimentary from Paperback. The fit of this top is very flattering. It is fitted by the bust and slightly flares out at the bottom. The sleeves also have a little bit of a belle sleeve shape. Bell sleeves are another trend that is hot right now. I love that the top had a bit of a flow to the shape without losing the complimentary form. Sometimes I forget just how much I love white tops until I add accessories to them. A white top and jeans have endless possibilities to them.  The white top is currently sold out, but there is a white sweater listed on the site with a little bit of a similar shape to it.

Tuesday Shoesday

It's Tuesday which means I am sharing all things shoes! I have been struggling staying healthy this week so todays post will be short and sweet if that is okay with you, so I can get back to resting. This virus/bug sure is kicking my butt, any tips on how to shake it off? Vitamin C is not working as fast as I would like it...

Both of these pairs of boots are from the brand Corkys. I have seen the brand several times in retail stores and was so excited to be able to have a pair of my own to try. Let me just say these boots are hands down some of the most comfortable shoes I own. The inserts inside the shoe are super soft and made them comfortable to wear even without socks. The wedge boots were perfect in the snow and never left my feet feeling cold, something that can be hard to accomplish on a shoes without being a snow or rain boot.  I wore the booties to a conference recently at my church that lasted all day and I had no issues at all.

Now that the warm air is slowly starting to come through I can't wait to wear these booties with maxis and sun dresses. I even wore them without socks and they didn't make my feet sweat like crazy. Bomber Jackets and Pencil Skirts

Happy Tuesday! I have not been posting too many blogs lately, nor done much with my blog since the holidays so I have much to share with you! I hope everyones new year is going well and that you have all set some wonderful goals to accomplish this year! Do not be hard on yourself, start little and go from there. Little can be much!

Today I am sharing some fun items from the site Make Me Chic. Lately I have been wearing so much black! I dont know if I am in mourning or if the continual grey weather is affecting me but that has been my trend lately. My eye was drawn to this skirt when I saw it becasue I knew I could wear it many different ways. My oldest daughter is convinced it is a shirt, so she gave me a few good laughs when I tried to convince her otherwise. I found the black crop top from a store called Gabes when visiting my sister in West Virginia. It is a great store that carries name brands for cheaper prices. Pretty sure my definition of an amazing time. Now if only they would serve cupcakes! :)

The bomber jacket is definitely me stepping out of my norm. If you know me, florals are my go to. So for me to pick out an all black outfit with a jacket, one would think I went a little cray cray. The material was really thick and was a comfortable jacket. Im a nothern girl, born and raised in New York so I have to represent. Shein Striped Dress

This is my new current favorite dress! I cannot say enough good things about it. First off the material is sooooo comfortable. You know those amazing high count thread sheets that you love to sleep in? I secretly think this dress is made from those sheets! Ok, maybe not but one can dream. 

This dress was fitted but still had some room for comfort. It also had a little bit of flow to it so I could pair it with a long cardigan. This dress is perfect for all season. I especially love pairing stripes in the fall with a deep mustard color. In the winter I can pair it with some tights and over the knee boots and once the weather warms up a bit in the spring I can wear it by itself.

Irresistible Me Hair Pt. 2

What better proof of showing what you love than a before and after? The first three pictures listed below are my hair naturally. I have fine, thin hair that requires a lot of hairspray to appear voluminous. Like most women I love for my hair to have that look of sheer volume but that is just not realistic when the numbers on my head are limited. Lets talk watches! Typically I am a fan of big, bold watches. I wear them usually for the arm candy party and very rarely do I ever wear a watch for the time. Does that sound crazy? Wear a watch for the sole purpose of being just an accessory? I always have my phone on me so I never need to look anywhere else for the time. 

I would say I do about 60% of my blogging work on my phone. I have all my apps on there with my emails, which results in my constantly being on my phone. This is something that is necessary for me to do my work however I hate how much I have to be glued to that tiny device. Irresistible Me Hair

Ok Lets talk hair! My hair has changed very much over the past six years. Prior to having children I had fine, super wavy, semi thin hair that kept a curl all day long. In high school I even won the award for “Best Hair” my senior year. I was the girl who would wake up early in the morning to do her hair when most other high school students were trying to catch those last five minutes before the buzzer went off.

Fast toward ten years and two kids later and my hair is totally different. In the past I would have ringlets and voluminous hair and now it tends to fall flat shortly after being blow-dried and is pin straight. Isn’t it crazy how much hormones can change a persons hair? I know I am not the only mom out there who experienced a 180! I have heard so many stories.

I have used different hair extensions in the past. Some have been awful, where the hair has disintegrated when a curling iron touches them and others have been ok to use, but only provided a few uses.

When I received my Irresistible Me hair extensions in the mail I was so excited to try them! The package provides you with several different size clips, allowing you to decide how thick and full you would like your hair to be. They are 100% human hair and curl the same way as the hair on top of my head does. 

When picking out my extensions on their website I was able to decide on what color and length I wanted to choose. In all honesty I was very nervous I had picked the wrong color, however when I placed the clips in my hair they matched perfectly! You would never be able to tell the difference.

I personally cut my extensions so they blended better with my hair length. When placing the clips in your own personal hair if you do NOT put them in right they can hurt do to pulling on hair. You need to make sure that any hair that is not going to be placed in the clips is out of the way. For example, taking your hair by sections and pulling up and out of your way will guarantee no fly away hair will get stuck. I learned a great tip a few years ago: Tease the hair that you plan on placing the clips in. This not only allows the clips to sit better in your hair, it helps alleviate strain on your hair. I like to use the large weft at the bottom on my hair. Because it is larger, there is a little bit of weight placed on my head. If I tease my hair and then place the clips in it helps with the weight and I can wear my extensions all day long. 

These extensions are so easy! I love that they are low maintenance and low commitment. I even use them for braids! They are so versatile and can be worn in multiple different ways. They only add about 2 minutes more to my routine in the morning. 2 minutes!! And those are the days I feel like they need to be curled again. SO easy! I highly recommend them!
