Let’s talk cleansers! When I received my box in the mail of Oleum Vera oils I was so excited! I was quite impressed with the packaging and detail and how organized the boxed appeared. Inside contained tiny bottles of oils and larger sized containers of oil, all for preparing your own cleansers and masks.
Oleum Vera is a Canadian based company that features a do-It-Yourself body care brand. Their ingredients are all-organic, sustainable and customizable. I am a BIG fan of oils, so creating my own cleanser to fit my personals skin type was awesome to say the least!
I have never used oils before to cleanse my face, so the first time I washed my face with the oils it did feel a little different. However the smell and texture of my face after wards was completely different as compared to using soap. My face retained so much more moisture. I also loved the way my face felt afterwards. It had an overall fresh feel to it.
When I created my own mask, I choose the option for sensitive skin. The mask came out a little thick, so make sure you follow the directions properly. I also tried the mask for oily/acne prone skin. A word of advice, this mask burned. If you have sensitive skin at all I would stay away from this one. I am not exactly sure what ingredient bothered me, so I would recommend sticking with what you know works best for you skin type. The sensitive skin mask gave me no reactions at all and had a pleasant rose petal smell to it.
I have only used the oil cleanser a few days, but am very excited to see how my skin adjusts during the next couple’s weeks. I feel so much better knowing the ingredients that I am putting on my face are organic. Our skin is the largest organ on our body; therefore we need to do our best at protecting it!
