It has been about 6 months now since I first had eye lash extensions placed on my lashes and I just love them! I had looked around and asked for recommendations on the best salon to visit and many people recommended Kim from Polished Salon.
Kim is a Continental graduate and NYS educator. She has been in the beauty industry for 10 years as a freelance Makeup Artist, and currently runs her own business at Polished Salon. I am so proud of her as she is adding to her resume, Lash Extensions Course instructor at Continental. Bottom line: Kim knows her stuff and she is good!
My first time visiting Kim I was definitely nervous as I had no idea what to expect. I was not sure if there was pain involved or if I could even keep my eyes closed for an extended period of time. When I first walked into her room, I immediately loved the ambiance. Its such a beautiful space and makes you feel right at home. Kim is so easy going and every time I visit we just chat about life and the time flies by. I answer some of my most asked questions below:
Is it painful?
No! Honestly I don’t even feel her placing the lashes on. When I go in for fills she removes the lashes about to fall off or ones that have gone astray and every now and there there may be a slightly tug. That is it!
How do I know what lash extension size to get?
Kim is a lash genius! She takes a look at your natural lash and and gauges from that what would be appropriate to fit over your own.
Can I apply mascara to my extensions?
Yes you can. However you need to be careful to carefully clean them so bacteria does not build on them. Investing in an eye lash cleaner would be recommended.
How long will they last?
Recommended lash fills are every 2-3 weeks. The lashes will fall out with your natural lash so depending on your natural lash growth will indicate how long your lashes last.
Does this damage my own lash?
If done correctly the lashes will not be damaged. Kim has done an excellent job with my lashes and I can still see my natural lash underneath that is long and healthy. This is why choosing a provider who is skilled is very important! To maintain the integrity.
Can I get them wet?
Yes, but avoid getting them wet within the first 24 hours for the glue to dry. Also a little tip: blow drying your lashes after the shower will give them back their fluffy appearance.
I have had a wonderful experience with Kim and have been so happy with my lashes every time. Kim is offering a one time $40 off discount to all my followers when mentioning my name. You can contact her via phone (585) 227-8619 (ask for Kim) or DM her directly on Instagram @gregoirekim.
My sister was in town over Christmas and had her lashes done for the first time by Kim!!
